We Have To Take Responsibility for Jose Mourinho Sacking – John Terry Speaks Out!

Chelsea legend and captain, John Terry in a match programme today, has admitted that his fellow players have to look at their performances and take responsibility for Jose Mourinho sacking.

John Terry has paid tribute to sacked manager, Jose Mourinho, who was sacked on Thursday with the club 16th in the Premier League, having lost nine of their first 16 games, and claimed responsibility for the team’s poor league position lies with the players.

Writing in the club’s programme ahead of Chelsea’s home game against Sunderland on Saturday, Terry was adamant that he and his team-mates can turn their season around.

The former England international, thanked his former manager, both on behalf of the club and in a personal capacity, stressing that ‘together we won so many big trophies,’ He also played down rumous of players not giving their all for their former manager, insisting that ‘all of us go out to win every game’.

‘We are aware there have been rumours about player power at the club but I want to make it clear that is not the case. We leave all decisions to Mr Abramovich and the Board, and I know that our job, as players, is to focus on getting results on the pitch.

Believe me when I say that all of us go out to win every game and we players have to look at our performances and take responsibility for where Chelsea sit in the table right now.’

PLAYERS ARE RESPONSIBLE – JOHN TERRY’S PROGRAMME NOTES IN FULL

This is a massive club and we need to turn this season around.

After the events of this week, I want to begin by thanking Jose for all he has done for the club, for how he has helped my career personally – together we won so many big trophies.

We are aware there have been rumours about player power at the club but I want to make it clear that is not the case. We leave all decisions to Mr Abramovich and the Board, and I know that our job, as players, is to focus on getting results on the pitch. Believe me when I say that all of us go out to win every game and we players have to look at our performances and take responsibility for where Chelsea sit in the table right now.

The manager going doesn’t change that we are responsible, and to be 16th in the table is not acceptable from us.

This is a massive club and we are determined, collectively, to get ourselves back where we should be. It won’t be easy after the start we have made, but we need to turn this season around, working together and with your support. I can’t thank our home and travelling fans enough because you have been unbelievable.

Having been here since I was a kid, it hurts me that we are in this position. I take pride in putting the shirt on for each and every game and we know we have a responsibility to the club and to you supporters to push our way back up the table. That means winning football matches and we have two home games in quick succession now, which me must make the most of. Let’s get back to winning ways.
Come on the Chels!
